A carbon footprint report, offset record, or climate label is not enough by itself. The evidence must support the exact claim subject, standard version, time period, product scope, and SKU mapping.
What to verify
Claim subject: Organization-level, brand-level, product-level, event-level, and SKU-level claims should be reviewed separately.
Standard version: New projects should review ISO 14068-1 or the current certification-body pathway. CarbonNeutral® claims should be checked against the relevant annual CarbonNeutral Protocol.
Evidence chain: Align the carbon footprint report, accounting boundary, reduction action plan, mitigation or offset records, retirement evidence, certificate validity, authorized wording, SKU, ASIN, and UPC/EAN.
