A magnetic toy notice is rarely just a missing-certificate problem. The practical question is whether the magnet, age positioning, test sample, CPC and page wording all describe the same product version.

When an Amazon seller receives a notice for a magnetic fidget toy, the first reaction is often to ask a laboratory or supplier for a CPC. That is too late in the sequence. A CPC is the final certification statement. It does not repair a mismatch between the physical magnet, the test sample, the age claim and the listing page.

The seller should first define the product version under review: SKU, color, set quantity, magnet location, magnet size, supplier model, batch, package, manual, listing title, images and back-end category. If those records do not point to the same product, uploading a certificate may create a larger inconsistency.

Supplier statements are not enough

CPSC magnet guidance focuses on loose or separable magnets, small-parts fit and flux index for subject magnet products. For children’s products, CPSC explains that the CPC must be based on testing from a third-party CPSC-accepted laboratory and that the CPC and supporting reports must be in English.

Ask suppliers for magnet specifications, construction changes, report photos, applicable standards, package warnings and batch coverage. Do not ask only whether they have a CPC. The real review is whether the report sample is the same structure currently sold online.

A usable response file

  • SKU and ASIN mapping with color, set quantity, supplier model and batch.
  • Disassembly photos showing magnet position, quantity, dimension and fixing method.
  • Test report and CPC fields linked to the same sample and production version.
  • Listing, package and manual screenshots showing age claims and warnings.
  • A difference note for any color, package or structural variation.
