Data review date: 2026-08-09. This article summarizes document checks for wireless devices entering the U.S. market based on the FCC Part 15 compliance framework and common cross-border marketplace evidence requests. Requirements can vary by product, frequency band, module combination, and platform notice. It does not promise listing approval, review results, certification results, appeals, ranking, traffic, or sales.
Start by classifying the device
The first question is not simply whether a product needs certification. Sellers should check whether the product includes a radio transmitter, whether it contains digital circuitry, whether it is sold as a complete device, and whether adapters, charging docks, remotes, modules, or accessories need separate review. Mixed devices may require both SDoC and Certification evidence.
Evidence differences between SDoC and Certification
| Path | Common product signal | Evidence to prepare |
|---|---|---|
| SDoC | Unintentional radiators and some digital devices | Test report, responsible-party information, user manual, label, and technical file |
| Certification | WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular, ZigBee, and other intentional radiators | FCC ID, grant record, test report, block diagram, manual, and label photos |
| Combined product | A complete device with digital circuits and wireless modules | Model list, module authorization, difference explanation, and platform-upload version records |
Before uploading documents to Amazon
- Confirm that the FCC ID matches the actual model, module, antenna, and frequency band.
- Keep screenshots of product labels, packaging, manuals, and listing wireless-function wording.
- If a module, antenna, firmware, or housing structure changes, assess whether retesting or a permissive change is needed.
- Do not use CE, UKCA, TELEC, or other market documents as substitutes for FCC evidence.
