Processed goods require particular care. A finished item may contain an in-scope material even when the listing title does not obviously mention a regulated commodity.

Build A Due-Diligence Evidence File

The evidence file should include product description, quantity, country of production, supplier information, geolocation data where required, legality evidence and internal risk-assessment records.

For complex supply chains, the seller may need to work through multiple tiers of suppliers. A factory address alone may not be enough if the required evidence must point back to the origin of the relevant material.

Prepare The DDS And Reference Flow

After information collection and risk assessment, the operator may need to submit a due diligence statement through the EU information system. The resulting reference should be kept with shipment and transaction records where applicable.

Chinese exporters often support an EU importer or marketplace partner by providing upstream documents. The responsibility structure should be checked contract by contract.

Seller Action List

Create an SKU-by-SKU list, identify materials that may be in scope, request supplier traceability documents, review page claims, and keep a versioned file of decisions and evidence.
