Confirm the timeline and scope first
The European Commission states that the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, Regulation (EU) 2025/40) entered into force on 11 February 2025 and will generally apply from 12 August 2026. It replaces the earlier Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive and creates a more unified regulatory framework.
This page is a record-check guide for cross-border sellers. It is not legal advice and does not promise compliance, platform display, sales, certification, customs or enforcement outcomes. Packaging type, operator role and member-state implementation details still need separate review.
Build a packaging record table
For each SKU, keep sales packaging, transport packaging, materials, weight, supplier statements, recyclability wording, label artwork and listing wording in one record. Product compliance alone is not enough when packaging material and packaging claims also need evidence.
If one product has different country packs, gift-box versions, bundle versions or supplier versions, keep separate images, specifications and supplier files instead of using one file pack for every variant.
Check four field groups
- Can packaging material, weight, layer and supplier statement be mapped to the SKU?
- Are recyclability, recycled-content, reduction or reuse claims supported by documents?
- Do labels, symbols, instructions and artwork match the target market needs?
- Do product pages, A+ content, image text and support wording stay within the evidence scope?
Customer action checklist
Build a PPWR packaging register covering SKU, packaging layer, material, weight, supplier, evidence basis, label artwork, listing screenshot and open questions. When packaging or supplier information changes, update marketplace, purchasing and compliance records together.
绿色方舟(深圳)认证有限公司 can help teams organize PPWR packaging records, supplier document interfaces and listing claim boundaries, without promising any compliance, certification, platform, customs or commercial result.
