Amazon Seller Central notices indicate that, from July 27, 2026, most product titles need to stay within 75 characters, including spaces. For sustainability-related products, the practical issue is not only shortening the title. It is tracking where green claims move after the title is shortened.
If a former title included words such as recycled, recyclable, eco friendly, sustainable, organic, FSC, GRS, RCS or OCS, those words may be removed from the title and reappear in bullets, A+ content, images, backend attributes or packaging. Each visible or implied claim still needs a document basis.
What to Check
| Page or File | Review Question |
|---|---|
| Title | Which green words were removed or shortened? |
| Bullets | Did the claim become broader after being moved? |
| A+ and images | Does the overall impression exceed the certificate or test report? |
| Packaging | Does the label say the same thing as the listing? |
| Supplier documents | Do the certificate, TC, batch or material records cover the current SKU? |
The FTC Green Guides and Amazon environmental-claim guidance in different marketplaces point to the same operating discipline: environmental claims should be specific, qualified and supported. This article does not treat those sources as the same rule as the title update. It uses them as claim-boundary references for cross-border listing review.
