Climate Pledge Friendly (CPF) is an Amazon program that helps shoppers discover products with sustainability features. Amazon describes the program as working with trusted third-party certifications and Amazon-developed certifications. This article is a practical reference for evidence mapping and page wording. It does not treat CPF as a universal statutory certification and makes no promise about subsidies, traffic, placement, review outcomes, or timing.

Keep three objects separate: a third-party certification or standard is an evidence source; CPF is an Amazon product-discovery and information program; the status of a particular ASIN must be checked against current program requirements and the actual Seller Central account.

1. Match the product to the certification scope

Build a map that connects certification or standard, certificate or record, product, ASIN, and marketplace. Record the certification name, issuing or managing body, certificate number, holder, product model or range, applicable scope, material or formula version, and the document’s date information. Do not treat a brand-level sustainability statement, a factory file, or a certificate for another SKU as evidence for the current ASIN.

Check the product name, model, variation, packaging, and key materials against the evidence. If a certificate covers a product family, retain its scope definition and explain why the ASIN falls within it. For recycled content, mass-balance, packaging, or carbon claims, keep the relevant calculation basis, transaction records, or supply-chain documents rather than only the certificate cover page.

2. Evidence file map

Entity and scope: brand or selling entity, certification holder, marketplace, product models, and variations.

Product and materials: specifications, BOM or material composition, packaging details, version records, and production or purchase-batch links.

External evidence: third-party certificates, standard clauses, test or assessment reports, and scope or status records. Files should be traceable to the issuer and product. Any required format or update rule must be checked against the relevant certification body and Amazon’s current requirements; do not apply one universal validity period.

Platform and page: ASIN, SKU, title, bullets, description, images, and sustainability-attribute snapshots. Break each environmental or material statement into a claim record linked to its evidence, scope, and version.

3. A current Seller Central check

Start in the relevant Sustainability or program area of Seller Central and read the current eligibility and submission instructions for the marketplace. Before submitting, save the page version, ASIN/SKU set, file names, certificate scope, and operation time. After submission, record only the status actually shown in the account. Help pages, program names, eligibility rules, and display methods can change by marketplace and time; an old screenshot or third-party article is not a substitute for the current account view.

CPF concerns an individual product, not automatically the entire brand, store, or every variation. Recheck the mapping when the ASIN, variation, marketplace, brand entity, or certificate scope changes. Program information also does not replace mandatory product, labeling, packaging, import, safety, or other market requirements.

4. Boundaries for product-page claims

Write only the object, attribute, scope, and time point supported by the evidence. A statement that a model corresponds to a third-party certification should be supported by the certification name, holder, product scope, and document status. Do not turn “contains some recycled material” into “the whole product is environmentally friendly,” or extend a certification mark or CPF information into “officially certified,” “zero impact,” “guaranteed compliant,” or “valid in every market.”

Avoid unsupported wording such as “latest subsidy,” “guaranteed traffic,” “fast approval,” “100%,” or “guaranteed placement.” Environmental claims should retain their qualifiers, scope, and evidence version. When evidence is incomplete, mark the item for review or remove the claim.

5. Change control and recordkeeping

Recheck evidence coverage and ASIN mapping when the formula, materials, supplier, packaging, model, brand entity, or page wording changes. Retain source files, certification scope, status records, submitted versions, page snapshots, and change reasons. Record renewal, surveillance, or reassessment rules separately for each certification body rather than assuming one common cycle.

Review sequence: confirm the program and marketplace → confirm evidence source and scope → map the product and ASIN → check every page claim → record the actual Seller Central status → version the changes.
