Preparing for a major Amazon event is more than setting a discount. Start with the ASINs and SKUs you actually plan to submit, then connect pricing, inventory, fulfillment, detail-page information, and product evidence in one working file. Amazon promotions have their own eligibility, selection, and scheduling conditions; an offer shown as eligible or submitted is not a legal compliance conclusion.

Keep the boundary clear: promotion eligibility is a platform-operations question. Product safety, labeling, import, and environmental duties must be assessed separately for the destination market, product category, and applicable rules.

1. Build the ASIN/SKU master list first

Give each event candidate its own row. Record the marketplace, store, ASIN, SKU, variation, brand, manufacturer, fulfillment method, current price, planned promotional price, inventory location, and owner. Note the version or date when the product, packaging, instructions, or images change so that evidence for one variation is not silently applied to another.

Ask four basic questions: Which marketplace and event are in scope? Which ASIN/SKU is being submitted? Do the price and inventory refer to the same selling condition? Do the model, specifications, and images in the evidence identify this product? Mark unanswered items for review instead of filling them from memory.

2. Review promotion conditions and price records separately

In Seller Central, review the promotion types and prompts currently available under Deals, Price Discounts, or Coupons for the relevant marketplace. An event may offer Deals or discounts for a defined audience, while eligibility, fees, submission windows, and merchandising placement can vary by event and marketplace. Use the current account page as the operational reference.

Keep a record of the offer type, submitted price, start and end time, status, and system messages before and after submission. Check recent price history, stacked discounts, coupons, and publicly visible prices where relevant. Do not describe an offer as guaranteed to be selected, displayed, or the lowest price everywhere. Amazon promotion-quality rules may consider recent pricing and product-quality conditions; confirm the applicable threshold in the event help page.

3. Check inventory, fulfillment, and detail-page information together

Review available inventory, inbound status, fulfillment route, handling capacity, and returns planning against the event scenario. A created shipping plan is not the same as inventory received at a fulfillment center, and a forecast is not a sales result. Record the actual fulfillment path for FBA and seller-fulfilled offers separately.

Check the title, bullets, main image, variation relationship, displayed price, delivery information, and promotional copy for the same product identity. Claims about safety, materials, environmental attributes, or performance should point to a relevant specification, test, label, declaration, or supply-chain record. Remove or qualify wording whose scope cannot be verified.

4. File product evidence by product, document, and version

For products that may receive a document request, create an evidence index covering specifications or BOMs, labels and instructions, applicable-market testing or conformity documents, manufacturer and importer-of-record information, batch or model records, and supply-chain or environmental statements where relevant. For each file, record the issuing party, covered product, version, issue date, and storage location.

If Amazon sends a Product Compliance Request for an ASIN, use the corresponding Seller Central workflow to review the requested documents and submission rules. Platform review is distinct from the work of a government authority, certification body, or laboratory. Do not turn “upload requested documents” into “certified,” and do not treat a supplier file as proof of the seller or importer entity without checking the scope.

5. Keep the submission trail and resolve exceptions

Save the event name, ASIN/SKU, submission time, system status, price, and inventory snapshot. Before and during the event, review the Deals Dashboard, Account Health, and relevant notifications for action items. When eligibility changes or documents are requested, preserve the original message, affected scope, and next action instead of guessing at the reason.

After the event, compare the actual promotional price, inventory movement, returns, and customer feedback with the master list. If the model, formula, factory, packaging, marketplace, or fulfillment route changes, reassess whether the product evidence still applies.
