Evidence checked on August 23, 2026. This article is based on B Lab’s standards and certification guidance, its 2026 transition information, and Amazon’s public Climate Pledge Friendly (CPF) program explanation. B Corp Certification concerns a company’s social, environmental, and governance performance; it is not a certification for an individual product or ASIN. CPF is an Amazon program for displaying eligible products. Holding a company-level certificate does not, by itself, establish product-level CPF eligibility.

Three boundaries come first: B Corp Certification is issued to a company, not to every SKU; B Lab’s updated standards are being used in the 2026 certification transition, with requirements shaped by company context; and CPF eligibility must be checked against Amazon’s current recognized certifications, product information, and submission process. Do not infer a CPF badge from a B Corp certificate.

1. What B Corp evidence does and does not show

B Lab describes B Corp Certification as a company-level process involving foundation requirements, impact topic requirements, eligibility review, and independent third-party assurance. The updated standards include foundation requirements such as eligibility, stakeholder governance, and risk assessment, followed by requirements that address social, environmental, and governance topics. Companies follow a track shaped by their size, sector, and context rather than one universal product checklist.

A B Corp certificate or public certification record can therefore support company-level checks such as the certified entity, public status, standards version, and disclosed impact information. It does not by itself prove that an ASIN’s materials, packaging, manufacturing process, or product claim meets Amazon’s product-level CPF requirements, and it does not replace a product certification or other product records.

2. How to read the 2026 B Lab transition

B Lab’s public guidance says the new B Lab Standards were launched in 2025 and that certification on the new standards begins in 2026. The structure should not be reduced to a single fixed score, a universal five-part checklist, or one fixed review interval for every company. The process starts with Foundation Requirements, continues through context-specific Impact Topic Requirements, and includes independent third-party assurance. B Lab also describes continuous improvement during the certification cycle; the applicable requirements should be checked in the current B Impact path and official materials.

The previous draft’s statements about a universal 2026 weighting increase, a standalone 80-point rule, and a three-year review cycle were too broad or lacked the necessary scope. They have been removed. An 80-point requirement appears in B Lab’s older B Impact Assessment governance guidance, but it should not be presented as a universal conclusion for every stage of the new standards or for CPF product review.

3. Map B Corp records to CPF in separate layers

LayerWhat to checkWhat it cannot establish alone
CompanyCertified entity name, public B Corp record, standards version, company impact information, and permitted use or authorization. That every ASIN under the brand qualifies for CPF.
ProductASIN, brand and selling entity, product category, material and packaging information, and the product certification or program records currently accepted by Amazon. That a company certificate can replace a product certification, product template, or other Amazon-requested material.
ProcessThe current CPF guidance, recognized certifications, submission route, submitted version, and Amazon response in Seller Central. That prepared documents mean a badge was awarded or will definitely be displayed.

4. A practical evidence-mapping workflow

First, compare the legal entity in the B Corp record with the Amazon brand and selling entity, and archive the certificate, public record, standards version, and status separately. Next, create a product record for each ASIN under review, including category, materials, packaging, and product-level certifications; do not treat a company impact report as product proof. Then check the current CPF recognized-certification and category guidance in Seller Central and use the current template or support route. Finally, limit the product page to the documented object, scope, and facts instead of extending a company-level practice to every SKU.

5. Safer page wording

A supportable statement is: “The company holds B Corp Certification; company-level information is available in B Lab’s public record. CPF eligibility for this ASIN must still be checked against Amazon’s current program requirements and product-level evidence.” Avoid statements such as “a B Corp certificate gives every SKU the CPF badge,” “B Corp Certification is a product environmental certification,” or “submission guarantees an Amazon badge.” If the entity, product scope, material records, or current Amazon requirements do not align, pause the claim until the evidence is clarified.
