Climate Pledge Friendly (CPF) is an Amazon program that helps shoppers identify products with sustainability features. For sellers, the practical task is not to treat the leaf label as a universal certificate. It is to connect a specific product, the certification or other evidence supporting a stated attribute, the Amazon product record, and each customer-facing claim.
1. Separate the four objects
Product object: record the ASIN, SKU, variation, product version, materials or formula, packaging components, and changes in production. A supplier file can support the current product only when its scope actually covers that product.
Evidence object: retain the original certificate, test or assessment report, material statement, transaction record, or supplier document, together with its number, issuer, scope, version, and applicable quantity, batch, or site. A document that uses words such as “sustainable” or “green” does not automatically substantiate the same wording on a product page.
Platform object: record the account, product identifier, relevant certification route, submitted version, and any Amazon field or notice returned during the review. Do not generalize the display status of one ASIN to a brand, factory, or every variation.
Claim object: break each environmental statement into a testable claim, such as a statement about recycled content, a material source, or a packaging attribute. State the object, scope, comparison basis, and qualification.
2. Build a product–document–page map
For each SKU, keep a record of the product identifier and version; the material, component, or packaging scope; document name, number, issuer, and scope; covered quantity, batch, or production site; the exact page sentence; target Amazon marketplace; review date; and unresolved questions. The map should answer “which document supports this exact sentence?” rather than merely list certificates.
A supplier document does not by itself resolve the certificate holder, brand authorization, product scope, or page-owner questions. If the holder, model, material content, site, batch, or packaging version differs, obtain a scope explanation or additional evidence before deciding whether the document applies to the current SKU.
3. Narrow the environmental wording
The Federal Trade Commission’s Green Guides state general principles for truthful, substantiated environmental marketing and caution against broad, unqualified claims such as “green” or “eco-friendly.” A page should not expand evidence for one material attribute into an overall conclusion about the product, brand, or full life cycle. Keep the qualification close to the claim and identify whether it concerns the product, a component, packaging, or a particular stage.
If the evidence covers one packaging component, do not rewrite it as “the product is environmentally friendly” or “zero impact.” When using a certification name or mark, verify the certifier’s mark rules, scope, and current version, and retain the final page text or screenshot as a record.
Chinese and English pages and Amazon attributes should preserve the same factual boundary without requiring sentence-by-sentence translation. Keep qualifiers in English and do not expand wording such as “contains,” “may support,” or “for a specified component” into unconditional claims such as “fully sustainable” or “eco-friendly.”
4. Manual pre-submission checklist
(1) Confirm that the ASIN, SKU, variation, materials, and packaging version match the evidence scope. (2) Check the issuer, document number, applicable scope, and current version. (3) Link every page claim to specific supporting evidence. (4) Distinguish a third-party certification, a supplier statement, a test result, and a platform field. (5) Check for missing qualifiers, comparison bases, or scope limits. (6) Save the pre-submission files, submitted fields, and platform response. (7) Reassess after a change to the product, formula, materials, packaging, supplier, or page instead of reusing an old map.
Sources and scope note
The CPF program background and sustainability-feature framing are based on Amazon Sustainability’s products and services overview and Amazon Ads’ CPF creative guidelines. The discussion of substantiation, qualifications, and environmental-claim boundaries is based on the FTC Green Guides and the FTC Environmental Claims Summary. Platform fields and program routes may vary by marketplace, account, product category, and rule updates; check the current backend and applicable certifier requirements before submission.
绿色方舟(深圳)认证有限公司 can help organize a review record linking products, documents, and page claims. The applicable requirements still need to be confirmed against the product, market, responsible entity, and current platform rules.
