Amazon Vine and Climate Pledge Friendly (CPF) address different questions. Vine is a review program; CPF is a way to surface sustainability features. A Vine participation record does not replace CPF eligibility evidence, and review volume does not prove a certification. This guide is for recordkeeping and wording review only; it makes no promise about enrollment, display, certification or any platform outcome.
1. Start with two separate records

2. Vine record: keep review-program facts separate
Amazon’s public seller-facing Vine page describes entry through Seller Central and lists conditions such as FBA, a product image and description, and fewer than 30 reviews. It also identifies exclusions for some product types and says current eligibility and fee terms control. For each ASIN, retain:
- ASIN, parent/child relationship, listing state and FBA inventory state;
- brand enrollment or brand role where applicable, enrollment date, status and units offered;
- the listing images, description, variations and price record used at enrollment;
- review count, dates and actual platform display. Reviews are not certification evidence.
3. CPF record: keep sustainability evidence traceable
Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly guidance says the program works with trusted third-party certifications and Amazon’s own certification programs, and surfaces sustainability information for qualifying products. Qualification still depends on the current recognized scope and the match between the product and the evidence. Include:
- the ASIN/SKU and its link to the model, material or specification;
- certification name, certificate or license number, holder, product scope, dates, conditions and limits;
- the source wording used for the page, with covered and uncovered claim boundaries;
- whether the current Amazon page actually displays the feature. Do not use a leaf icon, certification badge or “approved” wording before verification.
4. Keep page wording within the evidence
Describe review-program participation and sustainability evidence as separate facts. 5. Pre-submission checklist
- Confirm that Vine and CPF use separate records at ASIN/SKU level.
- Check the holder, product scope, dates and limitations against source documents; mark missing or mismatched scope for review.
- Confirm that reviews, platform labels, certification names and service descriptions are not presented as one outcome.
- Retain actual Seller Central and listing evidence with an access date, and recheck after a rule or recognition-scope change.
