EU Battery Regulation: EPR, Labeling, Carbon Footprint, and Battery Passport Review
EU Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 sets different obligations for portable batteries, industrial batteries, electric-vehicle batteries, light-means-of-transport batteries, SLI batteries, and other categories. Companies should avoid describing every battery or battery-containing product as one registration project. File Preparation Tips
- Keep specification sheets, test reports, supplier declarations, label files, and sales-country records by battery model.
- For finished products containing batteries, check the boundaries among battery, finished product, transport, and platform records.
- After adding sales countries, changing suppliers, or changing battery specifications, EPR and label records should be reviewed again.
- Customer-facing pages should not merge battery regulation, CE, recycling registration, and battery passport into one proof item.
